Accessibility Statement

Last updated: March 25, 2026.

MesFunerailles.ca is committed to making mesfunerailles.ca accessible to everyone, without distinction, in accordance with section 10 of the Quebec Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms and international best practices for digital accessibility.

01 — TARGET STANDARD

Target Accessibility Standard

Our goal is to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1, Level AA. This standard is internationally recognized as the reference for digital accessibility.

02 — FEATURES IMPLEMENTED

Accessibility Features Implemented

Alternative text

All meaningful images include descriptive alternative text (alt attribute). Decorative images are explicitly hidden from assistive technologies.

Keyboard navigation

The entire site can be browsed and used without a mouse, using the keyboard alone. Tab order is logical and consistent throughout.

Contrast ratios

Text and background colour combinations meet a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text, per WCAG 2.1 criterion 1.4.3.

Skip links

A "Skip to main content" link is available at the top of each page, allowing screen reader users to bypass repetitive navigation.

Semantic structure

Pages are structured using semantic HTML elements (h1, h2, nav, main, footer), ensuring a clear hierarchy that assistive technologies can interpret correctly.

Accessible forms

Each form field is associated with an explicit label. Validation errors are clearly identified and communicated to assistive technologies.

Text resizing

Content remains readable and usable when text is enlarged up to 200% without horizontal scrolling.

03 — KNOWN LIMITATIONS

Known Limitations

Some third-party content embedded in our platform (e.g., external video players, mapping tools) may not fully satisfy WCAG 2.1 AA requirements. We are working to identify accessible alternatives or replacements. If you encounter difficulty accessing specific content, contact us and we will provide the information in an accessible format.

04 — REPORTING ISSUES

05 — LEGAL BASIS

Our accessibility commitment is grounded in section 10 of the Quebec Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms, which prohibits discrimination based on disability. We recognize that digital accessibility is an essential component of respecting the dignity and equality of all persons.
